THE FLOWS
Big Hole River
The Big Hole is on a slow, stable drop. If this drop continues, it will become a little difficult to float the upper river, near Mudd Creek.
Beaverhead River
Clark Canyon dam is releasing about 550 cfs, and the upper river is at a great level for productive fishing. Below Barretts, the flows are average for this time of year.
WHERE TO FISH
The Big Hole
The river has been consistent from top to bottom, popular stretches have been Divide to Melrose and East Bank to Jerry. Wade access is difficult between Jerry and Divide.
UP NEXT
Outlook for the coming week (hatches, water levels, weather)
The river will probably continue to slowly drop, we are hoping a little warm weather might loosen the high snow and stabilize the drop. If there is a warm up, we should see the golden stones hatch. There are chances of thunderstorms and cloudy skies every day, which should make both the dry fly and streamer bite really turn on.
TIP OF THE WEEK
The Madison River is just starting its annual salmon fly hatch!
