DUCK HUNTING

Montana Duck Hunts

As the leaves turn from green to gold, and the days shorten a bit more, it’s time to drag out the decoys for some fast action duck hunting in Southwest Montana. Hunting primarily for mallards and geese in open water, our hunts are from boats. We silently float the river and “jump ducks” as they rest in backwater eddies.

But there’s one more thing…you can even bring your own dog! No trip would be complete without your best hunting buddy. We provide kennels for visiting duck dogs with staying in our all-inclusive Grand Lodge. Pets are welcome in our cabins.

Duck Hunts on the Beaverhead River

The Beaverhead River offers some of the best duck hunting opportunities in Montana. This winding waterway features numerous warm springs and wetlands with acres and acres of nearby agriculture lands.

Duck populations are large. The habitat is perfect – willows and cattails, slow-moving marshlands, and ample fields of feed.

We can accommodate 1-3 hunters to hunt by boat. We can accommodate up to six hunters for duck blind hunts.

Daily Activity Option

While staying at the luxurious Grand Lodge at the Silver Bow Club, the trap range, along with guns and ammo, are included as a daily activity. As an all-inclusive resort, you can choose from activities such as fly fishing, ATV tours, horseback riding, and trap shooting. For guests staying at our cabins, activities can be added for a fee.

Montana Cast and Blast

Combine a duck hunt with a fly fishing trip on the Big Hole River. For best fishing opportunities, choose dates before October 15th.
